"Good tent but not for cool weather" 2010-06-17
By J. Ure (Denver)
This is a good little tent for my husband and myself. We go camping in the mountains only a couple times a year. This time we went over Memorial Day, when it can still be chilly. Putting up the tent was easy and intuitive. We waterproofed the tent and everything stayed dry despite a couple hours of rain and hail. We were even able to get the tent back into the tent bag when we were done and took it down. My only complaint, and it is unfortunately a big one, is that you can't close all the windows in the tent. It has two large vents (screens) on the top half of the tent that cannot be sealed. That made for some very cold nights. I can also foresee some problems if there was a windy day in a dry area, as the rainfly barely covers those vents and dust/dirt particles could get in there. Unfortunately, our new tent will be replaced sooner than later due to those problems.
"Awesome little tent!" 2010-06-01
By K. Kainula (SSM, Ontario)
Let me set the record straight, this tent is awesome! I am 6'2 and it sleeps me very well. It went through about 5 straight nights of constant rain and I or anything inside the tent did not get wet at all. This tent is super. For the price, buy it! The color combo is also really eye catching as well. Easy to set up and take down.
"Best value for the money" 2010-05-28
By A. Tegtmeier (Northern Alabama)
The setup is easy and can be done by one person. The ventilation of the tent is exceptional, because it has mesh on the top third of the walls.
Size-wise, subtract one person from the description and you are on the safe side. A Queen sized air mattress fits perfectly in the tent, with some space left for additional stuff. How many people you want to stack on the Queen mattress is your business, but my family refused to play Sardines in their sleeping bags. But two adults easily can have a very comfortable sleep in there.
The tent has some nice additional features that do not make or break the deal, but are a nice touch anyway - the storage pouch on one wall, and the cooler door which is accessible from the outside.
The tent comes with all seams already sealed, which saves a lot of time. It also dries very quickly, which is kind of important for all those tours when you have to rely on it more than one night.
The fabrication is very good, no complaints about quality issues.
All in all a very good tent, and a super deal for that kind of money!
"Great in the heat, not in the cold" 2010-05-28
By R. L. Halpert (SF Bay Area)
This is a well constructed little tent that is relatively easy to assemble. Needless to say, 7'x7' is not a whole lot of room for the advertised "3-Person" capacity, especially since I am 6'4". However, this is no surprise - all the other tent manufacturers would call this a 3-person tent as well. The tent allows breezes to flow through easily due to the two vented sides (under the rain cover in the images). These vents do not close, so the tent doesn't fare well in cold weather, and it wouldn't provide privacy without the rain cover. On the other hand, the vented sides did a great job of preventing condensation in the morning after a cold night, and with a warm enough sleeping bag the fact that the inside of the tent doesn't warm up much really doesn't matter. I highly recommend this tent for anyone who is aware of these facts.
"Great Tent" 2010-05-04
By C. Hargrave (franklin,va)
The reviews i read on this particular tent before my purchase persuaded me into buying it. I am glad i chose to go with this particular tent because it definitely lives up to its claim of staying dry! Also, i have never been "into" camping so to speak until this year. This tent was easy to set up and had plenty of room for my husband, daughter and myself. I definitely will stick to buying Coleman products for my future camping trips.
