Product Description

The Coleman 5453A700 Powerpack Single-burner Low-profile Propane Stove is pretty much as easy as it gets. The Powerpack's fully adjustable flame lets you boil water or simmer chili, while the PerfectFlow system of pressure-regulated propane provides consistent cooking performance (without flaring or flickering) by producing a steady fuel stream, even in cold weather, high altitudes, or when fuel is low. This Coleman stove is constructed of an aluminized-steel cooktop and removable, nickel-chrome grates so you spend your time on the trail instead of on cleanup duty. The large 3.25-inch, 7,500 BTU burner is to the side of the propane cylinder in a low-profile fashion that ensures this burner will always be one of Coleman's easiest and best.

"Heavy Duty Camp and Emergency Stove" 2010-09-30
By R. Norton (Illinois)
This is your basic single burner propane outdoor stove. It works with 1 lb. propane bottles for portability and, with an adapter hose, can be connected to a 20 lb propane tank. I use one of these regularly and enjoy using it. If you get one, here are a couple of tips. 1) Get a Stove Tamer, Stove Tamer 6, so that you can use smaller pots, tin cups, etc. or to simply have better control over the heat. It will allow you to get a better low temp simmer without worrying about the stove blowing out. 2) The pot rack will pull free from the plasitc legs allowing you to give the stove a good cleaning without working around the rack. Once its dissasembled in this manner you can throw it in the sink and wash it like you would any other pan. I used one of these on the patio all summer for making coffee in the morning and side dishes when grilling out. I did not have any problems. Prior to purchasing this stove I used a Coleman Fold'N'Go. Since I never needed two burners on the patio I packed the two burner stove with the camping gear and use this guy exclusively.

"Great addition to my camping gear." 2010-09-27
By Dr. Jeremy
I am a pretty avid hiker/camper. We needed a burner that could use those readily available propane tanks. This one works great and does not take up too much space. Even better, it uses the same fuel as our light uses. I have also used this at the home to steam clams and mussels to avoid smelling up the house. Boils water very quickly and was great to cook on.

"exactly what I need" 2010-08-11
By P. Bornestig (Vancouver BC Canada)
Looked for some time for a stove like this. The other single burners just would not work on my sailboat, they have the tank fastening to the bottom, therefore taking up valuable space below the counter and just being awkward to use if set on top of the counter. I almost purchased a butane single burner,as they sit flatter, but found this before i did. I have propane onboard and want to stay with the same fuel. The base has been said to be larger than some like, but it's perfect for me. My coleman coffee maker sits on it just right and the rubber feet keep it from sliding on the counter in my boat. Not a backpackers stove, but that's not what I wanted. Buy it, it's great.

"Effective but bigger" 2010-08-07
By Zeletundra
The Coleman 1 burner stove is very effective but bigger than I expect. Rapidly boil water on the campground.

"great for boaters" 2010-06-22
By Beverly J. Talbert (Medford Ma)
This coleman stove is perfect for making coffee on our boat on Sunday mornings. The boat has an alcohol stove in the cabin, but flares up and constantly has to be filled. This coleman stove can be used in the cabin or on the deck. We love it and also plan on using it at home for a barbeque as an extra burner for saute'.
